How to do EFT

EFT Basics

  1. Pick an issue and rate the intensity of the issue on a 0 -10 scale. Write that number down.
  2. Tap lightly and continuously on the KC point (see picture above) or rub the tender spot while saying the following affirmation 3 times:
    “Even though I have this __________________, I deeply and completely accept myself”
  3. Tap gently on points 2 through 8 about 7-9 times each, while saying a reminder phrase about the problem, for example “this ______________”
  4. Take a deep breath and let it out. Rate the intensity again. If it is not yet ‘0’, continue the process, with the following minor modifications.

    Repeat the affirmation 3 times while tapping the KC point, but saying: “Even though I still have some of this __________________, I deeply and completely accept myself” Change reminder phrase to “remaining ____________”

Sample tapping technique:

  1. Pick an issue and rate the intensity of the issue on a 0 -10 scale. Write that number down.
    Say you have a pounding headache on the left side of your head which is an ‘8’ out of ‘10’. You would write down an ‘8’.
  2. Tap lightly and continuously on the KC point (see #1 above) while saying the following affirmation 3 times:
    “Even though I have this pounding headache on the left side of my head, I deeply and completely accept myself”

  3. Tap gently on points 2 through 8 about 7-9 times each, while saying a reminder phrase about the problem, for example “this pounding headache”
  4. Take a deep breath and let it out. Rate the intensity again. If it not yet ‘0’, continue the process, with the following minor modifications.
  5. Repeat the affirmations 3 times while tapping the KC point, but saying: “Even though I still have some of this pounding headache on the left side of my head, I deeply and completely accept myself.”
  6. Change reminder phrase to remaining headache”
  7. Rate the intensity again and repeat the entire process until the intensity is down to ‘0’.
